Protester mot Hamas i Gaza

Senaste vecka förekom omfattande demonstrationer och protester mot Hamas i Gaza under banderollen "Vi vill leva".
Khaled Abu Toameh analyserar protesterna och konstaterar att beroende på vem man lyssnar till så är det fråga om ett uppror mot Hamas eller en konspiration mot Hamas ledd av Fatah.

Fatah ledare i Ramallah har i åratal väntat på att folket i Gaza skall gå ut på gatorna och protestera mot Hamas som tog makten över området efter väpnade strider med Fatah.

Fatah stöder naturligtvis protesterna och Hamas å sin sida har brutalt slagit till mot demonstranterna.  The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate uppger att över 70 journalister som försökt rapportera om händelserna har arresterats eller utsatts för misshandel.

Foton har cirkulerat på sociala media som visar Hamas brutalitet mot demonstranterna. En del av fotona har visat sig vara falska, bilderna visade sig vara från Irak och Egypten.

Det finns också de som påpekar att Fatah agerar på samma sätt på västbanken som Hamas nu gör i Gaza.

Frågan är naturligtvis om protesterna trots motståndet kommer att fortsätta och i så fall vad de kan leda till.

"...Fatah wants Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to revolt against Hamas. Hamas, on the other hand, wants Palestinians in the West Bank to revolt against Abbas and Fatah because of their “conspiracies” against the Gaza Strip and “collaboration” with Israel.

If and when the protesters return to the streets of the Gaza Strip, the crisis between Hamas and Fatah will intensify, further solidifying the split between the West Bank and Gaza Strip. What is certain is that Hamas will do its utmost to divert attention from its domestic problems by directing Gazans’ anger towards Israel and Fatah.

Hamas is now hoping that tens of thousands of Palestinians will participate in the mass protests slated to take place near the border with Israel at the end of this month. It is also hoping that more Palestinians will take part in demonstrations condemning Abbas and Fatah for their role in the economic crisis in the Gaza Strip. "


HAMAS TARGETS MORE THAN 70 JOURNALISTS IN ANTI-PROTEST MEASURES (Jerusalem Post)
Mohammed Al-Lahham, as senior official with the syndicate, said during a press conference in Ramallah that Hamas’s actions were tantamount to “crimes.” He said he believed that the number of journalists who were arrested, beaten or summoned for interrogation by Hamas security forces in the past week was much higher than the figures published thus far.
