Iran har gjort ett lyckat test av en raket som kan föra en satellit ut i rymden. Ett bekymmer är att samma teknik kan användas för att föra t.ex. en kärnvapenladdning till Europa. Israel har redan länge varit inom räckhåll för iranska långdistansmissiler.

Iransk TV har rapporterat att iranska stridsflygplan nu klarar av att flyga 3.000 km utan bränslepåfyllning (Iran - Israel - Iran)
En israelisk säkerhetsexpert påpekar ändå att det är stor skillnad på att klara av att flyga 3.000 km och att utföra en lyckad attack på ett så långt avstånd.

I rapporten ovan kan man i ord och bild se vad iranska ledare under en längre tid sagt om att utplåna Israel.
Orden väcker oro i Israel, när orden också stöds av handlingar (utveckling av raketer, flygplan och kärnvapen) ökar oron ytterligare och risken för att Israel ser sig tvingad att slå till innan de angrips ökar.
Några exempel:
