Nabil Sha’ath representant för de palestinska myndigheterna upprepar att palestinierna vägrar förhandla med Israel, istället uppmanar han till kamp mot den "israeliska ockupationen".

Trots detta säger PA:s utrikesminister Riyad al-Malki att palestinierna är redo för självständighet i höst.

- En intressant detalj i den palestinska demokratin, enligt intervjun, är att det inte är de folkvalda som representerar palestinierna utan PLO.

- Hamas styrs av Iran
"The second problem that Hamas faces is that Hamas has sold its spirit and its independence to other countries. Hamas is not free to decide on its own about its decisions.I think other countries decide for Hamas. - Gaza är ett laglöst territorium som kan komma att kontrolleras av extrema element utifrån

- Gaza kommer att göra uppror mot Hamas

- Naturligtvis är det Israels fel att inga fredsföhandlingar förs

Faktumet att det är, och har varit palestinierna som vägrar komma till förhandlingsbordet spelar tydligen ingen roll.

Palestinska myndigheternas TV

Några exempel på hur de palestinska myndigheterna "förbereder" medborgarna på en fredlig samexistens med Israel. ( I praktiken omöjliggör de varje fredlig lösning)

Ignoring its renewed commitment to "work against incitement of any sort" during the proximity talks, official Palestinian Authority TV continues to educate its people to envision a world without Israel, in which all of Israeli cities and regions are presented as "Palestinian."
Today, PA TV broadcast an educational documentary that had been taken off the air six months ago. It describes the Israeli cities of Haifa, Acre, Ashkelon, Jaffa and the Sea of Galilee as Palestinian. PA TV is under the direct control of the office of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

20 miljarder i hjälp till palestinierna

Ari Rusila skriver om hur det under de senaste femton åren pumpats in 20 miljarder dollar till palestinierna utan att det har gett någon bestående effekt på samhällsutvecklingen.Stora summor har bara försvunnit. Dr. Ghania Malhis som är ordförande för The Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute höll ett föredrag om ämnet vid ett FN-seminarium i Wien den 25 mars.(UN Seminar on Assistance to the Palestinian People on 25 March 2010 in Vienna.)

The international assistance to the Palestinian people has an accelerated annual growth rate. The average annual contribution from 1994-2000 represented 500 million dollars and jumped to an average of 1 billion dollars a year from 2001-2005.
Although 2006 witnessed a slight decrease registering 716 million dollars, the numbers rapidly escalated to 1.5 billion dollars in 2007, 1.7 billion in 2008, 1.8 billion in 2009 and is expected to reach almost 2 billion dollars in 2010. "

Abbas på väg till USA

Palestiniernas ledare Mahmoud Abbas skall inom kort besöka USA. Två artiklar i Jerusalem Post behandlar ämnen som president Obama borde ta upp med Abbas om han är intresserad av en fredlig utveckling i Mellanöstern.
Den ena artikeln The simple truth can help bring peace behandlar den palestinska historieförfalskningen som gör gällande att judarna inte har någon historia i landet. När judarna beskrivs som främlingar/ockupanter som tar palestiniernas land istället för ett folk med lång historia i landet som återvänder hem, försvårar det möjligheterna att skapa fred.

Den andra artikeln Will the US follow its laws and suspend funding to Abbas? handlar om hur amerikanskt stöd till de palestinska myndigheterna går till verksamhet som understöder terrorverksamhet. I artikeln nämns bl.a. hur idrottsanläggningar och skolor som finansierats av USA uppkallats efter terrorister.
Så länge som terrorister görs till hjältar av myndigheterna är chanserna för fred minimala.
