Kristnas svårigheter i Mellanöstern

Saudi-Arabien är ett land där ingen annan religion än den rätta formen av islam accepteras.Detta drabbar bland annat kristna gästarbetare hårt.
35 kristna etiopier har deporterats från Saudi-Arabien efter att ha hållits fängslade i 7 månader. Deras "brott" var att de samlades till  bönemöte inför julen 2011.

I Egypten  klagar den koptiska kyrkans överhuvud på att den kristna minoriteten har förbisetts när den nya regeringen bildats. Det finns 35 ministerposter men endast en innehas av en kristen trots att de kristna i Egypten utgör ca 10 % av befolkningen.

Spänningen mellan muslimer och kristna har ökat i Egypten efter att president Mubarak störtades och Muslimska Brödraskapet sitter på presidentposten och har störst inflytande i parlamentet.

Saken blir inte bättre av att en islamist blivit utnämnd till utbildningsminister.

...Christians complain school books discriminate against them and as they include versus from Koran that both Muslim and Christian students are required to study, but make no reference to the Bible.
"The time has come for Egypt's new leadership to end the problems of Christians in Egypt or else the sectarian violence will increase," said human rights activist Gamal Eid.
