"Faktum är att jag inte skulle bli förvånad om arabstaterna drev igenom en resolution som säger att terrortunnlarna bara var bevattningsanläggningar och raketerna inget annat än stjärnfall..."
"Citing Winston Churchill’s criticism of the international community
in the 1930s for waiting while Germany rearmed itself, Prosor launched
an attack against the modern United Nations and the international
community for failing to quell violent attacks by the likes of Boko
Haram, ISIS, and Hamas.
“This institution was founded to stand for
truth, for justice, and for moral clarity. This is no longer the case,”
Prosor said about the UN. “It might be too much to ask you to stand on
our side in this battle between civilization and barbarism, but at least
the decency to swallow your selective outrage while Israel wages war
against the extremist groups seeking to eradicate the values that we all
hold very dear.”
Questioning the values of the UN, Prosor called
on members of the General Assembly and the UN to examine what he called
their complicity in allowing organizations like Hamas to continue to
exist in the Middle East, and insisted that Israel is on the frontline
of the battle against religious extremism.
“In fact I wouldn’t be
surprised if the Arab states passed a resolution saying that the terror
tunnels were simply an irrigation system, and that the rockets were
nothing more than shooting stars,” he said, reiterating that Israel was
left with no choice but to go into Gaza and to disassemble Hamas’
infrastructure.
Prosor called the inclusion of Hamas in the
Palestinian unity government absurd: “It’s like inviting ISIS to
participate in the Iraqi government.”
