Terrorattackerna fortsätter

Två nya terrorattacker har inträffat i dag.
En palestinsk kvinna knivhögg en israelisk man i Lejonporten i gamla stan i dag på morgonen. Mannen var beväpnad och lyckades skjuta kvinnan. Båda personerna fördes skadade till sjukhus.

I Kiryat Gat knivhöggs en soldat som steg av en buss av en palestinsk man som lyckades ta soldatens vapen.
Polisen spårade snabbt upp mannen som sköts.

A police officer sustained a head injury after rocks were thrown at Israel Police and Border Police at Hospice Junction in the Old City of Jerusalem. Police arrested two suspects, who are minors, in relation to the attack.

Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman praised the police force that shot down the Kiryat Gat assailant, and the Jerusalem stabbing victim that neutralized his attacker Tuesday.

"Only such determined reactions will deter future terrorists from carrying out similar attacks," he said.

Security forces arrested a second suspect in Kiryat Gat on Wednesday, after an assailant stabbed an IDF soldier and fled with his gun before being shot dead by police. Authorities were questioning the apprehended suspect over any possible links to the attack.

Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu was set to convene a meeting Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Jerusalem to asses the security situation along with top advisors and officials. Due to attend the meeting were Interior Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, Interim Police Chief Bentzi Sau, Jerusalem District Police Chief Asst.-Ch. Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan praised police for acting quickly to neutralize the terrorist who stabbed a soldier and snatched his weapon in Kiryat Gat. "The force acted exactly as they were expected to. we will continue to aggressively fight terror and will hurt whoever tries to harm us."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled a trip to Germany planned for Thursday, German government sources told Reuters, as tensions rise between Palestinians and Israelis after about 10 days of violence. An Israeli official confirmed the cancellation, citing the security situation.

A suspected terrorist stabbed an IDF soldier before snatching his gun in the southern city of Kiryat Gat, initial reports say.
A police spokesman said that, upon initial investigation, the suspect approached an armed IDF soldier after stepping off of a bus and attempted to snatch his weapon. The soldier resisted his assailant and as a result of the struggle sustained a light stabbing wound to his head. The suspect continued with the snatched weapon to an adjacent residential building, where he took refuge until being confronted and shot down by police forces minutes later.

An Israeli settler on Wednesday shot at a Palestinian near the West Bank town of Beit Sahour, according to initial Palestinian reports. Two people were reported hurt in the same area where Palestinian rioters earlier were throwing stones at Israeli motorists and wounded a driver in a violent ambush on her car. The two wounded were evacuated to a hospital in Bethlehem.

An Israeli man shot a knife-wielding female terrorist after being stabbed from behind at Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate in the Old City. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transferred to an area hospital, he said. The terrorist, who is in serious-to-critical condition, has also been hospitalized.

Palestinian rioters attempted to ambush an Israeli motorist stuck in traffic outside the West Bank town of Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem on Wednesday. Police reported that the rioters had erected a barrier of stones and threw rocks at motorists, including the Israeli woman whom they tried to forcefully pull from her vehicle. Another person was hurt and seven other vehicles sustained damage during the incident, according to police.
