UN must recognize Jewish refugees from Arab countries – opinion (Gilad Erdan, Jerusalem Post)

"You won't hear their stories in European Union meetings or see their photographs exhibited in the hallways of the United Nations. Their names cannot be found anywhere among the thousands of UN resolutions discussed and passed over the last seven decades. There is no special day dedicated to their communities or to their memory. They are the 850,000 Jewish refugees expelled from Arab countries and from Iran following Israel’s creation.

For international bodies such as the UN, they are forgotten refugees. But for us Israelis, their struggle will go on.

There is no argument over the facts: In a display of anger, after failing to prevent the November 29, 1947, UN Partition Plan and the subsequent creation of the State of Israel, Arab countries waged war not only on the newly established Jewish state but also against the peaceful and thriving Jewish communities that lived among them.

Entire communities from Morocco to Iraq, from Egypt to Syria, Lebanon, Iran and more were effectively wiped out. Along with them thousands of years of Jewish heritage, history and culture was erased, too..."

PA defies coming Biden administration: Palestinian terrorist prisoners will continue to receive “full rights”

Itamar Marcus, Nan Jacques Zilberdik, and Maurice Hirsch, Adv.  |

The PA apparently deceived The New York Times, which falsely reported:

“Seeking Restart With Biden, Palestinians Eye End to Prisoner Payments.”

Jibril Rajoub, Fatah Central Committee Sec.:

“In no way will any decision be made that detracts from any right [the prisoners] receive today. On the contrary - if we want to change it, we will make it better.”

Commissioner of Prisoners’ Affairs, Qadri Abu Bakr:

“There will be no bargaining over the prisoners’ rights… the prisoners’ rights will be realized. We also deny that the prisoners’ allowances will be paid through social institutions. These news [reports in the NY Times] are completely unfounded.”

The New York Times apparently was deceived by the Palestinian Authority, which resulted in the prominent Times’ story this week headlined: “Seeking Restart With Biden, Palestinians Eye End to Prisoner Payments.”

Nearly every day since the Times’ report, one or more senior PA officials has denied that Palestinian prisoners’ “rights” will be hurt. The head of the PA Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, Qadri Abu Bakr himself, who was quoted by The New York Times as saying: “Economic need must serve as the basis, a single man should not be earning the same as someone with a family,” denied the information when interviewed by a Palestinian TV station. Abu Bakr said that the source was “an American paper… unfortunately we [Palestinians] have adjusted to them and repeated the same things.”

Independent Palestinian news agency Wattan host: “Are there really news reports about transferring these [prisoners’] allowances (i.e salaries) to the [Ministry of] Social Affairs [and paying] according to the prisoner’s living conditions, and not [as is PA law] according to the number of years of his sentence?”

Director of PLO Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr: “[The New York Times] published it, and [so did] the Israeli papers. Unfortunately we [Palestinians] have adjusted   to them and repeated the same things.”

[Wattan, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 22, 2020]

Another top Palestinian official, Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub, said not only will things not get worse for the prisoners, as the Times reported, “if we want to change it, we will make it better”:

Inga judar i en palestinsk stat

PMW: For the PA, “Peace” means a judenfrei state ethnically cleansed of all Jews

Maurice Hirsch, Adv.  |

138 UN Nations Call Temple Mount Solely by Muslim name Haram al-Sharif, as UN Singles Out Israel 7 Times, Rest of World 0 (UN Watch)

NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2020 –  A United Nations General Assembly committee today adopted a resolution that referred to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount solely by its Muslim name of Haram al-Sharif, one of seven resolutions passed today that single out or condemn Israel, with zero on the entire rest of the world.

“The UN today showed contempt for both Judaism and Christianity by passing a resolution that makes no mention of the name Temple Mount, which is Judaism’s holiest site, and which is sacred to all who venerate the Bible, in which the ancient Temple was of central importance,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, a Geneva-based, independent non-governmental watchdog organization.

One of the other texts condemns Israel for “repressive measures” against Syrian citizens in the Golan Heights, another renews the mandate of the corrupt UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), while another renews the mandate of the UN’s “special committee to investigate Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.” (Click here for texts and voting sheets.)

Enligt Fatah är hela Israel Palestina

All of Israel is “Palestine” in Fatah message (PMW)

Nan Jacques Zilberdik  |

In a recent Facebook post, Abbas’ Fatah Movement made it clear what it means when it refers to ”Palestine” – it includes the entire State of Israel.

As part of its protests against the recent normalization agreements between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan – and the fear that more Arab states will follow– Fatah posted the image above with four repetitions of the PA map of “Palestine” that includes all of Israel.

Posted text: “Our people’s resolve is stronger than all the enterprises of normalization, annexation, and treason, because the voice of truth is louder; here we remain and we will not leave; Palestine is a goal that dignifies and a flag that waves”

[Facebook page of the Fatah Commission of Information and Culture, Oct. 28, 2020]

Each map of “Palestine” is accompanied by an image of an upraised fist and the Palestinian flag with “Normalization is treason” written above it. Similarly, each section has “#Normalization_is_treason - #No_to_normalization” written in the upper right corner, whereas the upper left bears the Fatah logo that includes a grenade, crossed rifles, and the PA map of “Palestine.”

Each poster has a different text in the lower right corner:

Enligt PLO är det historiens största orättvisa att judarna fick ett eget land.

Värt att notera är att judarna  inte fick palestiniernas land som det påstås, eftersom det under historiens lopp aldrig existerat någon palestinsk stat.

PA: Balfour the devil has horns and fangs (PMW)

Itamar Marcus  |

  • PLO official: The Balfour Declaration “is illegal,” “the [greatest] crime of this era,” and “the greatest historical injustice”

"Today, on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, the PA portrayed Arthur Balfour as a devil with horns, fangs, and large red ears.

In 1917, Arthur Balfour, then British Foreign Secretary, wrote the letter stating that Britain was in favor of “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.” This was later adopted by the League of Nations, which made the British Mandate “responsible for putting into effect the declaration,” leading to the UN vote in favor of partitioning Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state in 1947.

Every year, PA leaders condemn the Balfour Declaration  as “the ominous promise,” “the most despicable plot,” and “a crime against humanity,” as Palestinian Media Watch has documented, and this year the PA is sticking to tradition.

In the official PA daily, the PA put a bloodstained image of a poster with a distorted image of former British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour together with a collage of images of Israeli Prime Ministers David Ben Gurion, Moshe Sharett, Levi Eshkol, Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Rabin, Benjamin Netanyahu, Golda Meir, Yitzhak Shamir, Shimon Peres, and Ehud Barak, with an Israeli flag behind them...."
