Israel är inte nöjd med hur USA agerar i Syrien och speciellt då inte med Irans ökande inflytande i Syrien. I värsta fall blir Syrien en marionettstat där Iran bestämmer.

"... Jerusalem’s frustration over the US policy in Syria was primarily voiced behind closed doors in Israel’s high-level security cabinet, the TV report added, but has become public in recent days.
“Let me be direct. There is a need for greater American involvement in making sure that Iran doesn’t turn Syria into a puppet state,” Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan last week told the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. “Every day that Iran entrenches itself in Syria brings war closer. There is no vacuum.”
“If the US chooses not to be a major player in shaping the future of Syria then others will — and trust me, it won’t be the democratically elected representatives of the Syrian people,” Erdan added in his message, apparently also directed at the Trump administration. ..."
Samarbetsavtalet mellan Hamas och Fatah/Palestinska myndigheten som slöts i höstas har inte genomförts som planerat. Nu rapporteras att Abbas rival Mohammed Dahlan och Hamas planerar en "nationell räddningsregering" för att förbättras situationen i Gaza.
Mahmoud Abbas har sparkat Dahlan ur Fatah för några år sedan men Dahlan som för tillfället bor i Förenade arabemiraten har ett visst stöd i olika arabstater och har flera gånger dykt upp som ett hot mot Abbas.

" ... Ahmed Yusef, a senior Hamas official in the Gaza Strip, said Dahlan’s representatives presented the Hamas delegation with ideas for managing the affairs of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting between the Hamas delegation and Dahlan’s men “cleared things up,” Yusef said in an interview with the Al Watan Voice website. Dahlan’s representatives, he added, presented ideas for administering the Gaza Strip and expressed readiness to improve the political situation and living conditions there.
“Dahlan talked about the formation of a national salvation government or a general framework for improving the situation in the Gaza Strip,” the Hamas official said. “Hamas has accepted the idea, especially because we see that the (Palestinian Authority) government is not interested in solving the problems of the Gaza Strip.” ..."
