Abbas hemma med nya krav på Israel

Abbas har återvänt till Ramallah från USA. Vid återkomsten försäkrade han att han inte gjort några eftergifter till Obama.
Samtidigt hotade de palestinska myndigheterna med att gå till FN för att få  fullt erkännande för sin stat om inte Israel friger fler fångar.
De har också publicerat en lista på fångar de förväntar sig att skall friges.
Abbas har försökt få hjälp av Obama för att Israel skall frige Marwan Barghouti som år 2004 dömdes till 5 livstidsdomar i Israel på grund av planering och  medverkan i flera självmordsattacker.
Palestinierna kräver också att flera israeliska araber som begått mord skall friges.
Att få mördare frigivna verkar vara första prioritet för de palestinska ledarna och det säger ganska mycket om deras värderingar.

En israelisk talesman säger att demonstrationerna och firandet i samband med Abbas återkomst från USA påminner om firandet i samband med Arafats återvändande från  Camp David och sammanbrottet av de dåvarande fredsförhandlingarna.

De palestinska myndigheterna och Fatah fortsätter lära ut att Palestina är ett odelbart område från havet till floden och Israel existerar överhuvudtaget inte.

that Palestine cannot be divided"

Even during the current negotiations with Israel, the Palestinian Authority continues to disseminate maps that exclude the existence of Israel by presenting all of the land as "Palestine." Official PA TV broadcast a cartoon last month that showed a math teacher pointing to a map of "Palestine" as an example of "a number that is indivisible." The map included both PA areas and all of Israel

They will memorize the anthem of 'return'; they will engrave the four-colored [Palestinian] flag on their hearts; they will learn the foundations of the revolution before they learn to read and write; they will only agree to one rule, which cannot be added to, subtracted from, or calculated: that Palestine cannot be divided."

The text was accompanied by a photo of a teacher pointing to a map of "Palestine" replacing all of Israel drawn on the blackboard, with the explanatory text rejecting Israeli jurisdiction over Israeli cities: "Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Ramle, Safed, Beit Shean, were and will remain Palestinian cities."
