Resolutionen som skulle fördöma Hamas gick inte igenom i FN:s generalförsamling

En resolutionen som fördömer Hamas för att organisationen skjuter raketer mot civilbefolkningen i Israel fick inte tillräckligt stöd i generalförsamlingen för att bli antagen.
Det här om något visar på det otroliga jude-och  Israelhat som dominerar FN arbetet.

Resolutionen fick stöd av 87 stater och 57 röstade emot,  33 avstod från att rösta.Trots att en majoritet röstade för resolutionen antogs den inte eftersom man i en tidigare omröstning röstat för att den måste få  två tredjedelars majoritet för att antas.

I den första omröstningen röstade 75 för att två tredjedelars majoritet krävdes för ett godkännande, 72 röstade mot och 26 avstod.

EU staterna stödde resolutionen som fördömde Hamas och ville också att enkel majoritet skulle räcka för godkännande.
Däremot lade de europeiska staterna Island, Lichtenstein, Norge, Schweiz samt Nya Zeeland ner sina röster i röstningen som gällde två tredjedelars majoritet. De här staterna röstade för resolutionen som fördömde Hamas men genom sitt hyckleri i den tidigare omröstningen såg de till att resolutionen inte hade någon chans att bli antagen.

Stormakterna Ryssland och Kina röstade mot et fördömande av Hamas. Det säger något om deras värderingar.

Genast efter omröstningen antogs en resolution som kritiserar Israel (“Comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East”) och som lagt fram av Irland, med stor majoritet 156 – 6 – 12.

Ett internationellt organ som inte kan anta en enda resolution som fördömer Hamas  men under det senaste året antagit ett tjugotal resolutioner som fördömer Israel har inget existensberättigande. Det är bara omoraliskt.

Full Text of Draft U.S. Resolution on Hamas
Activities of Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza
     The General Assembly,

     Reaffirming support for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace between Israelis and Palestinians, in accordance with international law, and bearing in mind relevant United Nations resolutions,

     Recognizing that all acts of violence against civilians, particularly acts of terror, as well as all acts of provocation, incitement and destruction only serve to erode trust and hinder efforts to bring about a peaceful solution,

    1 Condemns Hamas for repeatedly firing rockets into Israel and for inciting violence, thereby putting civilians at risk;

    2 Demands that Hamas and other militant actors, including Palestinian Islamic Jihad, cease all provocative actions and violent activity, including by using airborne incendiary devices;

     3Condemns the use of resources by Hamas in Gaza to construct military infrastructure, including tunnels to infiltrate Israel and equipment to launch rockets into civilian areas, when such resources could be used to address the critical needs of the civilian population;

     4Calls for full respect by all parties for international human rights law and international humanitarian law, including in regard to the protection of the civilian population;

     5Also calls for the cessation of all forms of violence and intimidation directed against medical and humanitarian personnel, and reiterates the importance of respecting the inviolability and neutrality of United Nations premises;

    6 Encourages tangible steps towards intra-Palestinian reconciliation, including in support of the mediation efforts of Egypt, and concrete steps to reunite the Gaza Strip and the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority and ensure its effective functioning in the Gaza Strip;

     7Welcomes and urges further engagement by the Secretary-General and the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process to assist, in cooperation with concerned partners, in the efforts to de-escalate the situation and address urgent infrastructure, humanitarian and economic development needs.
